Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning

The international department of the GSV uses the SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) and 'Emotional Literacy' schemes to help the children to develop their social-emotional skills and to track their social-emotional development. Research has shown that social-emotional skills such as empathy, self-respect, care for others and reliability are character traits which are not only essential for children's personal development but also for a healthy society. SEAL is based on themes such as 'New Beginnings', Good to be Me', and 'Say No to bullying', which are used throughout the International Department at the same time and are introduced to all children together in assemblies.
