Design and Technology
Technology overlaps with many other curriculum areas, language, mathematics and science in particular. Many of the general skills are used across the curriculum, such as planning, problem solving, group work, construction and modelling techniques. Typical technological activities for the children may be being asked to design simple models, make simple observational drawings, making models using appropriate equipment or simply making large, 3D models out of different boxes. Having experienced these types of activities the children should then be able to make an evaluation of the processes they have used and be able to talk about them. In this way children develop the ability to make valued judgements about their own designs and those of others.
